O papel da análise farmacêutica da prescrição médica hospitalar

RESUMO

O papel do farmacêutico dentro do contexto hospitalar deixou de ser apenas administrativo. A tendência atual é que a prática farmacêutica se direcione para o paciente, tendo o medicamento como instrumento. Para tal, o profissional farmacêutico precisa conhecer em detalhes os aspectos farmacológicos dos medicamentos em uso, essencial para o desenvolvimento do acompanhamento farmacoterapêutico. Este estudo bibliográfico abordou os principais aspectos qualitativos e quantitativos da avaliação farmacêutica de medicamentos da prescrição hospitalar, analisando o perfil e a prevalência dos tipos de erros de prescrições médicas hospitalares desde a posologia; a via; a indicação à interação medicamentosa com outros fármacos, com alimentos ou com alguma patologia, bem como buscou reconhecer a importância da intervenção farmacêutica na garantia de uma farmacoterapia de qualidade. Assim, demonstrou-se que ao acompanhamento e análise pelo farmacêutico da prescrição médica em âmbito hospitalar, junto a uma equipe multidisciplinar, se alcança a racionalização da terapia farmacológica e o sucesso, a eficácia e segurança do plano terapêutico.

ABSTRACT

The role of the pharmacist within hospitals’ context is not administrative anymore. The trend nowadays is that the pharmaceutical practice focus on the patient by the use of medicines. Thus, the pharmacist needs to know, in depth, the pharmacological characteristics of the medicine being used in order to have an efficient pharmacotherapeutic development. The following bibliographical study considered the main qualitative and quantitative aspects of medicine pharmaceutical evaluation prescribed in hospitals. It analyzed the characteristic and pattern of hospitals’ prescription mistakes regarding the dosage, how the medicine should be taken, how the medicine interacts with other medicines, how the medicine interacts with certain food or disease as well as it tried to understand the importance of a pharmaceutical intervention to ensure a qualitative pharmacotherapy. It was proved that when a pharmacist follows and analyzes the medical prescription within the hospital, along with a multidisciplinary team, it is possible to reach the rationalization of the pharmacological therapy and the success, efficiency and safety of the therapeutical plan.
