RESUMO

Por muitos anos considerou-se que amor e reprodução seria uma questão de escolha ou acaso, jamais se levou em ênfase a ciência. Processos químicos estão envolvidos e devem ser expostos para os adolescentes. Compreender as mudanças do corpo e da mente passa a ser muito mais do que uma simples curiosidade; é uma necessidade de informar os jovens. As dúvidas que surgem, se não forem esclarecidas, podem gerar consequências irreversíveis. Compreender como agem os hormônios diante de determinadas fases, ou lidar com sentimentos que parecem conflitantes, é essencial num período da vida em que autoconhecimento está em foco. É fundamental porque determinará conceitos sobre moralidade, ética, personalidade. Perceber como um sentimento pode interferir no cérebro ou até que ponto uma relação é considerada saudável, é um aprendizado necessário. O principal objetivo deste trabalho foi informar e conscientizar adolescentes sobre a importância de compreender as reações químicas no corpo humano e aprender a valorizá-lo. Para tanto, alunos do ensino médio responderam questionário e realizaram debates sobre o tema. Por meio dessas atividades, pode-se perceber não somente o interesse dos alunos, mas também a desinformação científica a respeito do assunto. Isso aponta para a necessidade de valorizar a própria adolescência e o que ela representa, interpretando-a e não trata-la somente como uma explosão de hormônios. E é por meio desse discernimento e conscientização que pais e professores poderão, juntos, cooperar para que o adolescente viva essa fase em sua plenitude.

ABSTRACT

For many years it was considered that love and reproduction would be a matter of choice or chance. Emphasis on science was never taken into consideration. Chemical processes are involved and should be exposed for adolescents. Understanding the changes of the body and mind goes far beyond the curiosity; it is necessary to inform young people. The questions that may arise, if not answered, can generate irreversible consequences. Understanding how hormones act on certain stages, or coping with feelings that often seem confusing is essential in a period of life in which self-knowledge is in focus. It is fundamental because it will determine concepts related to morality, ethics, and personality. Realizing how a feeling can interfere in the brain or to what extent a relationship can be considered healthy, is a necessary learning. The main goal of this study was to inform and educate adolescents about the importance of understanding the chemical reactions in the human body and learning to prize it. Therefore, high school students answered a questionnaire, held debates on the subject. By means of such activities, it could be noticed not only the students’ interest but also their lack of scientific information on the subject. It shows the need of valuing the adolescence itself and what it represents as well as interpreting it and not treating it just as an explosion of hormones. And it is through this discernment and awareness that parents and teachers, together, will be able to ensure that the adolescent lives this phase in its fullness.
